I'm Karyn, owner and photographer here at Karyn Abell Photography. I was born in New Jersey, but my family moved here to North Carolina when I was 8 years old. Ten years ago, I moved to Raleigh with my husband. We have two beautiful children, who have been some of my best models for photography, and with their full love and support of my family I was able to follow my dream and launch my photography business.

I developed a love of taking pictures around 9-10 years old and got my first DSLR, aka a "nice" camera, when I was 12. Little did I know what that would turn into. When I had my daughter in 2015 I was gifted my first professional grade camera, and after taking just a few pictures of my new baby girl, I knew this was what I wanted to pursue. To capture all the moments, big and small, and create lasting memories through pictures. This was something I wanted to pursue professionally. So here I am photographing my family's life, and yours, and loving it!

I strive to capture candid moments as well as posed. I want you to feel comfortable and natural in front of my camera. I love to capture the moments that aren't always planned but always fond memories to look back on. I look forward to turning your moments, whether big or small, special or seemingly mundane, into beautiful stories and timeless images and portraits that you will be proud and excited to print and hang in your home.

All sessions with me are judgement free. You are beautiful just as you are, and I can't wait to meet you!
